Just in time for the holidays, five heritage language programs in Eindhoven received a donated laptop from Wooninc., a local organization that engages in social responsibility. The laptops will help volunteers across these programs, many of which naturally rely on technology for teaching and administration.
This opportunity was made possible because Wooninc cooperates with Samen voor Eindhoven, which connects businesses with community initiatives. Samen voor Eindhoven works closely with HLE Network to identify opportunities for the heritage language education sector, and we were able to easily find interested language groups.
Representatives from three of the language groups attended the handover jointly, to show that support for heritage language education is a shared goal and that corporate support can help with access to educational tools. We hope this gesture from Wooninc. will inspire more businesses to join the global movement for support of volunteer groups that offer heritage language education!
