Event description
In 2021, the International Guidelines to Professional Practices in Community-Based Heritage Language Schools was published, which outlines basic principles and positive values, which apply to all people involved with the heritage language program. This includes leaders, teachers, tutors, volunteers, parents, and students. Engaging in these ethical practices helps ensure a positive environment, a sustainable language community, and a good name for the language program.
On Thursday, February 8, at 20:00 Central European Time there will be a free, online meetup ("FOHLC Café") for professionals in heritage language education: Anyone interested in discussing this topic and networking with others in the field of heritage language education is welcome to attend!
Program
This time, we plan on discussing: what does your HL program/coalition foster positive values and create a positive environment? What topics would you like to see discussed at future FOHLC Europe conferences? What ideas from the 2023 conference about harvesting resources have you implemented? Jana Nahodilova will guide the discussion.
