Persian children can now follow lessons at newly opened Eindhoven Persian School

March 12, 2020

We are happy to report that a new heritage language program has opened in Eindhoven! As of March 1, 2020, the Eindhoven Persian School is offering lessons to Persian children each Sunday from 15:00 to 17:00 at Foundation Boomerang (Planetenlaan 1A, 5632DG Eindhoven).

The parents who have started the school began months ago with a survey of the Persian community to see how much interest there is in lessons for children. Many of the parents who are interested in enrolling their children have children who are too young to attend, but they have enough to start! This past Sunday they had their first class with 8 children.

The new Eindhoven Persian School has contact with and support from a Persian school in The Hague and has links to schools in Scandinavia as well. They have purchased books that are tailored to Persian children living outside of a Persian-rich environment. This means that the teachers can focus on making the lessons interesting and fun for the children, rather than taking time to create the curriculum from scratch.

The Eindhoven Persian School also has plans to offer lessons to adults who would like to learn Persian as a second language, as a means to gain resources to support the heritage language program.

The HLSE community welcomes this new program and congratulates them on this noteworthy achievement. Thank you for this important service you are providing to Persian families in Eindhoven!
